Many children in the class are non-sleepers during rest time. Having the ability to use the fidgets and other sensory items during this time has helped them become more comfortable and relaxed. The children that do sleep have also benefited from having the items as we transition to rest time and before they fall asleep. \r\n\r\nBeing able to add the soothing items to our cozy corner, has also given the children more resources in helping deal with their strong emotions. The cuddle bug has been a particularly popular item for many children in the classroom. Children choose to cuddle with it while calming as well as some enjoy cuddling with it during rest. It has also been used to help a child remain seated and focused during large group activities. The weighted sensory book has been used to help children identify their feelings by using the feelings activity inside.
