It has truly been a gift that opened up new ways for my children to learn, grow, and celebrate their accomplishments.\r\n\r\nMany of my students needed extra support this year, and the Cricut helped turn daily routines into joyful learning moments. On our walks to the playground, they counted the flower cutouts I placed in the hallway, and by the end of the year every child could count to 10 with pride. At our classroom door, they eagerly counted the dinosaurs I made, and soon they were confidently recognizing the number 4 all on their own.\r\n\r\nThe Cricut also sparked excitement for literacy. I created ABC visuals for our walls, and the children would point to the letters and sing the alphabet together. For their portfolios, I used it to add names, words, and pictures. One of my favorite memories was when a child looked at a picture of a train and exclaimed, \"That says train!\"—and she was absolutely right. The look of pride on her face was unforgettable.\r\n\r\nOther teachers in our program have borrowed the Cricut, which means your generosity has touched even more classrooms and children than you might imagine. And now, as I welcome a new class this year, I'm excited knowing they too will benefit from all the creative learning opportunities the Cricut makes possible. We're also working on getting finger puppets next, which will help increase language skills and give the children even more playful ways to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and giving them tools that make learning fun, creative, and full of discovery. Because of you, they not only gained new skills—they gained confidence and joy in the process.","fullyFundedDate":1742934323036,"projectUrl":"project/a-cricut-for-literacy-and-learning/9113696/","projectTitle":"A Cricut for Literacy and Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Murray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8866286_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756300511483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teachercindyspeaks"},{"teacherId":8866286,"projectId":9150481,"letterContent":"You are truly amazing—thank you so much for your generous donation! In my classroom, laminating sheets are one of our most precious resources. They help turn everyday learning into something lasting, hands-on, and engaging. Contact paper is another favorite of mine—it's such a versatile tool for creating durable, toddler-friendly materials, and it's always exciting to receive!\r\nThanks to your gift, we created flower path markers to guide our toddlers to the playground. If you've ever tried moving eight two year olds from one part of a building to another, you'll understand—it's a little like herding cats. The flowers gave them a visual path and made transitions much smoother. They even started counting them along the way and now six of them can count all the way to ten!\r\nEven better, the kids love taking the flowers down and exploring them up close. They talk about the colors, shapes, and textures—sparking so much new language and social interaction. It's been a joy to see their curiosity grow and their vocabulary blossom.\r\nComing back inside was still a little tricky at first, so we added four dinosaurs and the number 4 to our classroom door. Now the children know to find the dinosaurs and count them to come back to the right room. One little girl even tells her mom \"4\" when she wants to go to school. 💛\r\nWe also used the laminating sheets to make individualized portfolios for each child, something we can now continue next year, too! Your gift is helping us build meaningful documentation and long-lasting memories for families.\r\nThanks to your kindness, I'm excited to keep going next up: more flower visuals, counting cards, and other hands-on learning tools that support both academic and emotional growth. Your generosity has made a big difference in our little world.","fullyFundedDate":1744032897564,"projectUrl":"project/creating-new-visuals-for-my-early-head-s/9150481/","projectTitle":"Creating New Visuals for My Early Head Start Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Murray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8866286_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756300511483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teachercindyspeaks"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_115062","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":35,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":115062,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Clackamas Community College Head Start on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Clackamas Community College Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/office-of-head-start/clackamas-community-college/115062"}
