When I titled this project \"Books for the Win\" I wanted donors to realize how important not only materials are, but stories. These books provide us windows into points in time that are not brought up in a traditional textbook. We can reference and cross reference ideas, thoughts, and statements from history when we have materials handy. Someone might think, that sounds silly or unnecessary in a world of digital information, but kids get tired of always working on a screen. Often times, if I give my students the choice, they will more often than not choose print materials to work with over digital materials. There is also the challenge of students searching and searching and not finding what they are truley looking for when working digitally. These print materials solve a multitude of issues we face in the classroom and we are forever grateful. Thank you so much for being generous and sharing what you can with strangers. We appreciate you.","fullyFundedDate":1761151926793,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-the-win/9752321/","projectTitle":"Books for the Win","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Spivey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2388698_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1531966976399","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2388698"},{"teacherId":2388698,"projectId":9297712,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for the bookshelves for our classroom. I was able to have one of my 12th grade students assemble the shelves and he really appreciated your generousity and the opportunity to display our books in the classroom. Other students immediately noticed the new shelves and were also intrigued with their unique look and how they draw the eye into the books.\r\n\r\nYou also provided a couple of caddies for supplies. We immediately put pens, colored pencils, markers, and highlighters in them. One of my student organized the whole thing by color and type of pen/pencil. Students are often doing projects in my classes and they are so grateful for easy access to materials and supplies with these caddies. They can easily share and find what they need.\r\n\r\nAnother item we received is an art display kit. We are not using it for art, but for those projects that we are working on. World History courses have many hands on projects that require work done by hand. We like to display the work of students not only for a gallenry walk, but also for students to see the different levels of work and detail. It is inspiring.
