There are not only benefits for increasing reading skills but also for increasing collaboration, cooperation, and good sportsmanship. \r\n\r\nMy students were able to take on the role of leaders as we first learned how to play these games in our classroom and then invited other families to join us in playing these games. Students that have typically been shy or cautious about trying something new were showing other people how to play these games and were acting as teachers themselves. It was so inspiring to see how access to these games and resources really inspired confidence in some of these kids. Not to mention the boost and skills that they received from playing games that are targeted to reinforce specific learning skills.
