They loved being able to dig into their imaginations and create an item of their choice. It was interesting to see them find that they could mold one thing, then change their mind and make something else entirely with the foil. My students nearly lost their minds when they walked into the classroom on Wednesday, January 29th to the big surprise. The project is also providing some really fun rewards for students earning 20 Wilderness Explorer Badges at the end of the year, such as the Elmer's Gue and Ellie Soda Pop Badges. \r\n\r\nWe will be putting the mini composition books to great use in a few weeks. They will be handed out as part of a reward I am giving students for earning their Cursive License. I know the kids will absolutely love them! The white bags are going to be a back up for Valentine's Day cards so that every child has a way to take their valentines home at the end of the day on Feb. 14th. \r\n\r\nWe have been doing lots of art projects this year that have required a fine tip black pen. With 30 students, I no longer have a working class set of pens, so these are just in time for restocking! We now have gnome hats, stickers decals, regular stickers and three books to read that share all about gnomes. Along with that, each child will get a special \"gnome in your pocket\" to take home after the experience, which I am sure they will hold onto for quite some time.
