Technology can drastically improve classroom engagement and I have seen it first hand with the donations. Many students do not feel comfortable standing in the front of the room to show their work or even raise their hand to participate in group discussion. Using an iPad and apple pencil allows students to write on the board from their seats. This looks like me walking around the classroom, asking students if they will write their work for the class using the iPad and handing it off to them! The students use the apple pencil to write their math directly on our slides which appear projected on the board. They do not need to raise their hand, stand up in front of others, or even speak aloud (middle school is embarrassing enough). \r\nWith the added use of technology, the students are able to engage more and I can highlight the quieter learners. It gives everyone a chance to contribute to our group learning. Additionally, it allows me to move around more in the class instead of staying at the front for lecture. I am able to carry the iPad and solve equations while standing from anywhere in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1727028446233,"projectUrl":"project/add-technology-to-my-middle-school-math/8644485/","projectTitle":"Add Technology to My Middle School Math Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moiso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9652139"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75580","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":409,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":70,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"40.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":64.3,"schoolId":75580,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about City View Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"City View Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/hillsboro-school-district-1j/city-view-charter-school/75580"}
