Our school is part of a small, rural, Title I district, and access to technology like this makes a world of difference. This new printer allows my students to view the contrast within their work with images that are colorful. It also allows full color photo prompting for students who need personal schedules.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been seeing their assignments printed in full color. Whether they're working on visual schedules, reading comprehension activities, or creating personal goal charts, the bright and clear images make learning more engaging and meaningful. Many of my students are visual learners, and having colorful, personalized materials helps them stay focused and better understand key concepts.\r\n\r\n Thank you for giving my students a tool that not only supports their learning but also celebrates their growth every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1755693090243,"projectUrl":"project/color-our-special-students-world/9236971/","projectTitle":"Color Our Special Students' World!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9759391"},{"teacherId":9839608,"projectId":8947450,"letterContent":"I can't say how appreciative Stella Mayfield is for your generous donation. This TV doesn't just impact me as a teacher, but us as entire community. It allowed sport competitions to have a score board, advertisements during community activities, pictures of student achievements and activities shared with family and kids and enhanced my entire Physical Education program. \r\n\r\nI am sorry it took so long to write this thank you letter, but just getting the TV and metal safety screen mounted was a task in itself. We first waited until spring break, so we could set up scaffolding to hoist both the TV and heavy safety screen to the height needed. After spring break, I had to wait for our IT man to come and devise a plan to hard wire the TV down to my classroom laptop, and then blue tooth connect to another laptop positioned at the score table. Once the IT man knew what we needed I again had to wait patiently for the correct Cord and new laptop to arrive. Then our amazing maintenance men strung a 50-foot cable across the gym and down to my computer. It was the moment we had been waiting for. We turned on the TV and then the computer, and......it didn't connect and work!!! With disappointment and sadness, I called the IT man back. After a week he came diagnose the problem. The cord had been connected backwards!!!! Sounds easy to solve, but that meant unstringing the 50 foot of cord that was at the highest point of the ceiling, then switching it and redoing the entire process. After another two weeks, the task was complete. This time as we turned on the TV and plugged in the computer we waited with anxiety and worry, but as the TV turned on we instantly heard the connection. I was finally able to use my new TV!!!!! \r\n\r\nI created a virtual classroom with special tabs for each of my classrooms. I added a timer to use for my warm-up and fun computer-generated games for kids to interact with. No more randomly picking a student to be a tagger, now I just click a button and the spinner on the computer chooses and is displayed quickly on the TV. I can show videos of different locomotor movements or show examples of game and expectations. I wish you could have seen the first day I had it going. The kids walked in and instantly noticed it as the timer was prominently displayed on the TV and music going. They did their warm-ups in awe and excitement exclaiming \"Mrs. McLaughlin, that is the coolest thing ever!!\" \r\n\r\nIn the end, I have no idea who you are, and why you chose this project to donate to, but I cannot thank you enough and describe how wonderfully impactful it was to us! Thank you for your kind and very generous donation.","fullyFundedDate":1739231705587,"projectUrl":"project/score-big-by-helping-us-score-a-new-tv/8947450/","projectTitle":"SCORE Big By Helping Us SCORE A New TV","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McLaughlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839608"},{"teacherId":9856409,"projectId":8986076,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our project! My students are always wanting me to take pictures of their creations and accomplishments. This is a great way for me to not only take pictures and show the students, but now I can actually create displays for them, which can later double as keepsakes at the end of the year. It helps them feel pride in their work/projects and also serves as a motivator to participate in the learning we are doing, especially at the end of the year when it is harder to stay focused. \r\n\r\nThe first project I used this new equipment for was to document a safety fair that we attended this spring. I also used the equipment to show our planting project. Our school is in a very rural area. It is so much easier to print pictures with this equipment and not have to head into a bigger town to get pictures printed at a store. \r\n\r\nThis equipment is going to allow me to personalize the learning process so much more for each class that comes through my room. We will also be able to use this equipment to make holiday projects! Yay! Thank you for allowing me to have this opportunity to give something special to my students and help them have proof of their school learning and experiences throughout their year in first grade.","fullyFundedDate":1739231705636,"projectUrl":"project/picture-yourself-learning/8986076/","projectTitle":"Picture Yourself Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9856409"},{"teacherId":4374735,"projectId":8648379,"letterContent":"Your generous support of our music students is so very appreciated! The instruments you helped provide have allowed our 5th graders to explore and perform on band instruments over the last 4 months, and we are having a blast! Our students have \"oohed and aahed\" over the instruments and expressed true excitement every time someone new gets to try them out. During the Holiday season, we were able to get started with the jSax instruments, along with Doods, Toots, and Xylophones. We learned how to handle instruments that are similar to regular band instruments, practiced reading music together as a class, and prepared music to perform for our Christmas Concert in December. One student even performed a duet on her jSax with Miss Stauffer!\r\n\r\nSince Christmas, we have rotated which students are on each instrument, allowing them to get familiar with different types of instruments while building their musical skills. This not only broadens their musical experience, it allows them to be much more informed when the time comes to select their band instrument for 6th grade beginning band. Mr. Murphey, our JH/HS Music Teacher, and Miss Stauffer, are very excited to see the impact these experiences will have on the progress our students will make in beginning band next year!\r\n\r\nAfter our final rotation, students will have the opportunity to go back to their favorite instrument and work with it again while we prepare for our Spring Concert. We are so enjoying the opportunity to make music with these PreBand instruments, and appreciate knowing that community members like you are the reason we have them. The camera has been the biggest hit with the students. I first taught a few students how to use it. Where the power button was, how to look at the screen to ensure the item or person is entirely in the frame, and how to take a picture with and without the flash. Those students then taught other students how to use it. The camera sits out all day long, so if students want to use it to capture their creations, they can grab and use it without asking. Having a digital camera for students has increased students' pride in their work. \r\n The photo printer and extra picture paper make it easy to share the images of our classroom projects with the rest of the school. They can see the images of the students while doing science projects or STEM challenges. Our class bulletin board has leveled up with the photographs. \r\n On a side note, I was so surprised to have my project funded, as it was my first time using DonorsChoose, that it inspired me to donate to a different classroom. I have spread the word at our school and encouraged others to try it.
