Thank you for supporting this classroom of 5th graders with your donations. The 5th grade students anticipate this project all year long. The model rocket project, at the end of the school year, is a celebration of all the hard work they have done in elementary school and their launch into middle school. We had a great time learning about gravity and forces, specifically thrust.\r\n\tThe students were incredibly excited to see the model rocket materials. They knew that the launch was only a couple weeks away. Building the model rockets was a new experience for the majority of the students. They demonstrated patience during the challenging assembly process. They were able to be hands on, making predictions, keeping notes and then taking home their own plant they grew from a clipping. \r\n\r\nWhen I explained to students what they were going to be doing the eyes that lit up identified go me who already had a love of plants and who were intrigued by the process. The Kindergarten Writing Curriculum by ThatKinderMama from Teachers Pay Teachers has transformed our young learners into confident writers who can now compose complete sentences and explore different writing genres. With the structured, step-by-step lessons, our students have developed strong sentence-building skills using labeled picture supports, sentence stems, and interactive writing prompts. The genre-based units—ranging from personal narratives to informational and opinion writing—have provided engaging, developmentally appropriate ways for our students to express their ideas.\r\n\r\nOne of the most heartwarming moments came when a student, who once struggled to put thoughts on paper, eagerly used the \"I can write a sentence\" anchor chart to craft her very first independent sentence. Watching her proudly read her work to the class was a testament to the confidence and creativity this curriculum has fostered.
