The new books you helped us get have brought so much joy and excitement into our classroom. Every week, my students look forward to reading them with their first-grade buddies. It's become one of our favorite parts of the week!\r\n\r\nThese stories have introduced so many meaningful lessons: kindness, understanding feelings, curiosity about the world, and even the courage to dream big like the women in NASA we've been reading about. It's been incredible to see my students connect these ideas to their own lives and model them for their younger buddies.\r\n\r\nReading time in our classroom is full of laughter, questions, and pride. My students take turns reading aloud, pointing out new words, and asking their buddies what they think will happen next. One student who used to be shy about reading now can't wait to share a mystery story each week, and another has completely fallen in love with \"Ada Twist, Scientist\" and told me she wants to be a scientist when she grows up!\r\n\r\nYour donation made moments like these possible. You didn't just give us books. You gave my students the chance to see themselves as readers, teachers, and role models. Thank you for believing in them and helping make our classroom such a special place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1747338324339,"projectUrl":"project/building-ms-osters-classroom-library/9332176/","projectTitle":"Building Ms. Oster's Classroom Library!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Oster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10025450_orig.jpg?crop=1333,1333,x0,y159&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746710204381","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10025450"},{"teacherId":2766015,"projectId":9608386,"letterContent":"When the new headphones came, it was like the holidays! For the first time, everyone was able to log into Lexia together without having to share or wait. I'll never forget how quiet the room got—every student focused, relieved to be working on their own. One student even whispered, \"These actually work!\" with the biggest grin.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have been a lifesaver, too. I've seen kids who normally struggle in the afternoon suddenly perk up and keep going just because they had something in their stomachs. It's such a simple thing, but it changes their whole day.\r\n\r\nAnd honestly, the cleaning and hygiene supplies make all of us feel better. Having wipes, sanitizer, and tissues on hand has kept our space healthy, but it also shows the kids that their classroom is a place where they're cared for.\r\n\r\nYour gift may look like everyday items, but to our students, it means they are supported, included, and ready to learn. Thank you for making such a difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1755731809561,"projectUrl":"project/germ-busters-needed/9608386/","projectTitle":"Germ-Busters Needed!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2766015_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754489467050","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2766015"},{"teacherId":2766015,"projectId":9329672,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom library project. Because of your support, we were able to purchase high-interest, leveled books, graphic novels, headphones for fluency practice, a barcode scanner, and a subscription to Scholastic Scope magazine. These resources have transformed reading in our classroom. Even our most reluctant readers are drawn to the graphic novels, while the leveled texts offer engaging, accessible stories that invite all students to pick up a book. Many of the books feature diverse characters and experiences, giving students a chance to see themselves reflected in the stories they read. Now, finding a book has become an exciting event—students line up eagerly to check out their choices, and with the new scanner, I can easily keep track so everyone gets a turn.\r\n\r\nThe excitement has extended beyond books to the Scope magazines, which have quickly become a classroom favorite. The stories are relevant, engaging, and written at levels that all students can access. My newcomers, some of whom speak very limited English, have found these materials especially inviting—they can read alongside their peers without feeling left out. Because of you, our classroom library is not just a shelf of books; it's a place where students feel included, inspired, and excited to read. Thank you for giving them that opportunity.","fullyFundedDate":1747336425045,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-literacy-with-engaging-content/9329672/","projectTitle":"Fueling Literacy With Engaging Content","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2766015_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754489467050","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2766015"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87917","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":375,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":87917,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cascade Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cascade Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/bethel-school-district-52/cascade-middle-school/87917"}
