My team and I try to meet those needs throughout our school day by having a sensory corner/break corner available to them. We carve out time for students to utilize this space during our academic rotations and/or as needed during other times of the day such as our whole group times like morning or afternoon meeting, recess and lunch(if it becomes overstimulating), and specials. \r\n\r\nWhen I started in this program earlier this school year, resources were sparse, disorganized, and had broken or missing pieces. It needed some serious love and attention for it to be a space that was functional and student centered. \r\n\r\nWith your help, we've accomplished just that. We have a space where students WANT to be. They are eager interact with all the new materials and resources we now have. With your help, we are getting their sensory needs met. Students are more regulated so that they can access their learning environment and take advantage of their instruction!
