Having the option to choose the seating that meets the needs that they have allows them to focus more on their lessons. It can be difficult having so much pent up energy that they have no way to expend while they are being made to sit still and learn. Being able to move helps them to free up their brains to focus on the lesson, instead of focusing on their movement needs. \r\nMy students were so excited when they came in and saw all of the flexible seating options available to them. They now come in to my classroom excited to learn because they know that they are going to be able to focus. In addition to the flexible seating, the light filters help take the harshness out of the lighting, allow their eyes to not strain against the blue light that they lights emit. The two sided tape was great for the zebras we put in the windows. \r\nWe are planning to use the hot glue gun and glue for a Veterans Day Project our class is heading up in November.\r\nWe are so grateful and appreciative of all these much needed supplies. The science kits that e ordered are full of experiments. We have been trying to do one a week. They really are so excited on experiment day.\r\nThe kits came with a lot of different types of experiments. I always like to have them make predictions about what is going to happen. Sometimes, we draw pictures of the final results.\r\nThe microscope has definitely been a hit. We haven't got to make the volcano erupt yet. \r\nI'm saving that for the last week of school. They talk about it everyday. Luckily, we will have some science activities and supplies left over to use next year. \r\nI am so thankful for all the people who donated to our project. I love doing activities that involve the students and peak their curiosity. I want them to be able to learn and explore.\r\nWe appreciate each and everyone who donated to our project. I was their kindergarten teacher last year. I was moved to first grade, so I had the privilege of having the same children again. I knew how much they loved science activities. There wasn't a science curriculum or much else in the first grade room. \r\nI reached out to Donor's Choose and because of their wonderful donors, we were able to add some science activities to our class. I was able to purchase a talking microscope, writing paper, laminator, and a rolling cart to store our science things in. I also had some sugar free suckers added.\r\nThe kids have already made good use of the suckers. Many of them had never seen a microscope. It has been the go to center everyday. It came with quite a few slides and I also ordered extra.They love to look at things under the microscope.\r\nWe have just about used all the writing paper. They have been able to laminate some of their drawings. Every morning, they want to know what science activitiy we can do. All of you have made this possible.
