Students are fascinated by the printing process and love watching an object take shape one layer at a time. It has opened the door for conversations about design, problem-solving, creativity, and the many ways technology is used beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe have also been able to use the 3D printer to encourage positive library habits. Just yesterday, students received special 3D-printed rewards for demonstrating good behavior in the library, returning their books on time, and taking good care of library materials. The excitement was wonderful! Students were proud to receive something that had been created right here in their own school library, and many were eager to learn more about how the items were made.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has allowed us to offer our students experiences with technology that might otherwise not be available in our small, rural school. As we continue incorporating the 3D printer into research projects and other learning activities, students will have even more opportunities to move from researching and imagining to designing and creating. Students love following the puppy's breathing and practicing calming techniques with it. Having something they can see and interact with makes learning these skills much more meaningful.\r\n\r\nI am especially thankful for the students who sometimes have a hard time finding the words to explain how they feel. These books and activities give them a safe and comfortable way to explore their emotions and learn that they have tools to help when feelings get big.
