With your generous donations to our classroom, my students and I have had to opportunity to explore and learn all there is to know about taking care of a Betta fish. With the supplies you all have provided we were able to setup a 5 gallon fish tank in our classroom. In this tank, we now have a beautiful male red crowntail Betta fish named Bubbles and a Nerite snail named Gary. \r\nWhen we got our materials my students were so surprised and shocked how fast we were able to reach our goal. They were super excited to start the process and begin learning all there is to know about Betta fish. We started out Betta fish curriculum with the nitrogen cycle and how to establish a new tank to prepare it for the fish and snail. It took about two weeks before the water was ready. Once it was ready, I surprised them by having the fish and snail in the tank waiting for them the next day! We also made Bubble a watercolor painting of a Betta to decorate the walls by his tank. \r\nEver since, my students will take brief breaks from their learning when needed to observe and spend time with Bubbles and Gary. It has been such a joyous experience getting to learn with them. I have no doubt that the impact you all have made in our classroom will stay with my students for a lifetime!
