This year I was able to replace old and broken whiteboards, calculators, white board supplies, and day to day tools we need such as pencils. I also was able to restock on all the hygiene products I leave in our \"basics bin\" where students can come and grab whatever they need to meet their hygiene needs. \r\n\r\nIt is hard enough being in middle school. I think when any person thinks back to the middle school time period, they remember being in an awkward phase where we just want to feel like we belong. In helping my middle schoolers, you help this be the only problem they remember rather than feeling ashamed they couldn't afford a binder or embarrassed their mom can't buy deodorant until she gets paid. \r\n\r\nYou set up my students for success. And for that, I am forever grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746925410551,"projectUrl":"project/building-confidence-in-math-and-hygiene/9311544/","projectTitle":"Building Confidence in Math and Hygiene for Middle Schoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chavarria","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6525360_orig.jpg?crop=861,861,x24,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1644010740239","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chavarriamath"},{"teacherId":6488174,"projectId":8866947,"letterContent":"My students have already been able to use the resources that have been provided. We use the jellyfish lamp to help keep us calm and focused. We have used the ping pong balls to represent the moon and it phases. When we were able to give the french horn players their new mouthpieces, they were so excited to be able to play on quality equipment and have taken so much pride in keeping them in tip-top shape. They were even more excited for their pencil holders to hold their 'professional pencils'. The oil and reeds have most definitely come in handy on a daily basis for backups so students that cannot afford them immediately still have supplies to be successful in class. In our Jazz bands, both of our bass players have been able to play and practice separately in rehearsals now that we have multiple amp cords. \r\n\r\nOur students were very excited to be able to have some more supplies to help out on a daily basis in class. \r\n\r\nMost supplies that are needed in a junior high band can seem small and 'trivial' but these 'small' supplies are truly un-do-withoutable.
