These manipulatives allow them to see problems and words in a variety of ways which helps these students benefit from learning a broad view of the skills they are learning. I have a student who is using the letter sounds to create words which will help them to eventually be able to to read words. The ability to use the numbers to add and subtract in a variety of ways also enables my students to begin to understand mathematical problems. \r\n Your generosity is helping learners to focus!
