It's been a great addition and we've been using it for all sorts of things from small resources like timers and dislaying lesson goals/standards to demonstrating annotation on texts as we read in class. Most importantly, it's allowed us to practice breaking down multiple step questions by annotating key terms and academic language from the state standards. It's been very helpful to have a flexible tool that keeps the students engaged and makes lessons more interactive for them.\r\n\r\nIn the near future, we're excited to use the smartboard for mapping sentences as we practice grammar and doing interactive vocabulary activities. Students get really excited about being able to interact with the board because it gives them a hands-on way to learn beyond traditional paper and pencil. It also lets them play \"teacher\" for a moment as we practice things as a group. Besides grammar and vocabulary, this resource is also helping get students ready to annotate texts independently, and also review and correct their own essays as we prepare for the state test this coming spring.\r\n\r\nIt's been great to see the students so involved. We really appreciate the chance to use this technology as it's made a big difference in the way I teach and how the students learn. Thank you again for helping make our classroom more fun and an effective place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1746786468073,"projectUrl":"project/transforming-learning-with-smartboards/9159989/","projectTitle":"Transforming Learning With Smartboards","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Powell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8716746_orig.jpg?crop=200,200,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741792624964","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8716746"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_86032","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":488,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":71.8,"schoolId":86032,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Vinton County High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Vinton County High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/vinton-county-local-school-district/vinton-co-high-school/86032"}
