The emotional regulation tools you provided have made a meaningful difference in our daily routines. From calming tools and weighted stuffed animals to anger management storybooks, workbooks, and our emotions wall display, these resources are helping my students better understand and manage their big feelings. In a classroom where emotions can sometimes feel overwhelming, having tangible, supportive tools readily available has created a safer and more empowering learning environment for everyone.\r\n\r\nOne especially powerful moment has been watching a student who absolutely adores the weighted stuffed animal. When he begins to feel overwhelmed by schoolwork or the classroom environment, he independently chooses the stuffed animal to help ground himself. With that added sensory support, he is able to calm his body and successfully return to his work. I have also worked closely with another student using the anger management stories and workbook during moments of frustration. Instead of escalating to the point of needing removal from the classroom, we are building coping strategies together—learning how to pause, process emotions, and respond in healthier ways. These may seem like small steps, but for my learners, they represent tremendous growth.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I will continue to intentionally integrate these tools into our daily routines and individualized support plans. As new needs arise, these resources allow me to respond proactively and teach regulation skills in real time. My goal is to keep strengthening students' ability to identify their emotions, use coping strategies independently, and remain engaged in learning. Your generosity has not only provided supplies—it has given my students the tools to feel safe, understood, and capable. Thank you for helping us build both academic and emotional resilience in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1764639147897,"projectUrl":"project/emotional-regulation-tools/9676776/","projectTitle":"Emotional Regulation Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hoy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9785275_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739735232356","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9785275"},{"teacherId":8880328,"projectId":9549460,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of craft supplies and the document camera. The early literacy tools you provided have quickly become some of the most meaningful and engaging parts of our week. These hands-on literacy games help my students practice letters, letter sounds, sight words, and proper letter formation in ways that feel joyful rather than overwhelming. Throughout the week, we work hard on targeted reading and writing skills, and on Fridays, students get to reinforce those same skills using the games as a fun learning reward. Watching them apply what they've learned in an interactive, confidence-building way has been incredibly powerful.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. There were smiles, cheers, and so many eager hands ready to explore. For many of my learners, reading can feel challenging, so seeing them light up at the opportunity to practice in a playful and supportive way was truly special. They now look forward to using these tools and often ask if it's \"game day\" yet. Even more importantly, I have already seen academic growth in my students since introducing these resources. Their letter recognition, sound fluency, and confidence in writing have all improved, and they are taking more risks as readers.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I plan to continue integrating these literacy tools more regularly as we build foundational reading skills. My goal is to keep expanding our collection so that I can differentiate even more effectively for my early readers. Your support has not only strengthened our literacy instruction but has also helped foster a love of learning in students who need it most. Thank you for giving my classroom the tools to grow, succeed, and celebrate every step forward.","fullyFundedDate":1764639147673,"projectUrl":"project/early-literacy-tools/9676435/","projectTitle":"Early Literacy Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hoy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9785275_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739735232356","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9785275"},{"teacherId":9785275,"projectId":9065002,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. These sensory tools have given my students an opportunity to focus and reduce distraction in the classroom. This donation also brought a peaceful atmosphere to my classroom. \r\n\r\nA part of my donation were yoga balls and a wiggle feet tool. These have been used numerous times in the classroom to allow student to quietly fidget while we still worked on their reading skills. This created a greater sense of focus on their learning. My students have also been regularly using the neo fidget cubes. These are great when they are changing classes and cannot use the different types of seat or bigger tools. They can use this as a hand fidget to increase concentration. They love to hold these and use them during their oral reading fluency assessments to bring a sense of calm. I also was able to purchase cushions for the floor. The students have been using these during group or partner reading. This allows different types of seating. It makes it fun to sit on the floor and work compared to be sitting at a desk all day. \r\n\r\nWith my donation money I was also able to buy LED lights and a jellyfish light. These have been a hit with my students. They love having the over head lights off and use these lights and lamp to illuminate the classroom. It creates a calm classroom for them to come and work on their intervention needs. Upon adding these different things to my room, paired with calming music always playing in my room, my principal described my room as a big hug. \r\n\r\nI am so thankful for these donations to create a learning environment that supports and calms my students( and myself). Your donation has truly made a difference in my life and my students. Some students come to school to feel safe and calm, and these have allowed my room to become a safe space for them.
