The students were thrilled when they first saw the new materials, wide-eyed at the art supplies, excitedly inspecting the flashlights for reading time, and genuinely grateful for the snacks that now help them stay focused throughout the day. One unforgettable moment was our very first \"flashlight reading session.\" Students gathered around the room, lights dimmed, lamps glowing softly, and each child reading with their own flashlight. Several students who usually struggle to stay engaged were completely absorbed in their books, proudly sharing passages with their classmates.\r\n\r\nThese new resources have already become part of our daily routines. Snacks allow hungry students to stay alert and ready to learn, the stuffed animal has become a comforting support tool during tough moments, and the gift bags are helping us prepare for upcoming holiday activities. As we move forward with our current projects, students will use the art supplies and show off their creativity. Many did not have their own headphones or highlighters for school. Since many of our parents are below the poverty line and have to make choices such as school supplies or food, this was a welcome treat. They didn't have to worry about headphones! \r\nAs you can see in the pictures, students were working on their chromebooks using the headphones. The lessons they have on their chromebooks are ELA and Math. Since many of my students are ELLs, it is definitely a benefit to have the math be translated in Spanish to help them. With the headphones, they also hear only their lessons and not the lessons of their peers. \r\nThe highlighters are often used to go back into text to find and mark answers to questions in Reading and in Social Studies. \r\nThese tools have no doubt helped my students.
