We have already had teachers taking their kids to the Library for story time! \r\n\r\n With school just starting and this being my first year as a kindergarten teacher I have so many fun and executing ideas to do with my students. This next week we are dedicating one day for each letter of the alphabet. This is to boost their confidence in their writing and reading. They will praying writing the letter, learning the sound it makes, we will having coloring sheets, and even small projects to make the letter out of materials in the room. We were able to not only restock, but put a whole new spin on the store that has made it so exciting for my students. We really, really needed this for our building and positive behavior support this year.\r\n\r\nWhen the packages first started rolling in, the kids' eyes nearly popped out of their heads. They wanted to look and touch everything. They had hundreds of questions. I explained to them that these items would be available to buy at the dragon store and they immediately started making plans to earn dollars, save up, and made lists of what they wanted to purchase. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I was able to purchase Play Doh to keep in my intervention room. Kids of all ages have been super excited and their eyes light up when they see it. \r\n\r\nI have one 5th grader who comes by at least once a day when she needs a break from class. She uses the Play Doh to create fun 'food' (tacos, a cake, etc.) for a few minutes so she can decompress and go back to class in a better mood. When I have intervention lessons, I give my students a choice of a fun activity to do for a few minutes when we are done, and they frequently choose the Play Doh. I also bring students 1-5 grade to my room for small group testing and allow them to choose one of the activities as a reward for completing their tests.\r\n\r\nIt has kept my room a fun, relaxing, and rewarding place to be, and that is worth so much to me.
