The plush dolls and wooden doll figures have been especially meaningful as our students are able to see themselves in the diversity of these toys. It allows the students to be able to relate to them and play out feelings and situations more easily. The variety of the dollhouse figures has encouraged numerous conversations with students that would have been difficult due to limited English language and speech difficulties. Our therapists have been able to explore traumatic experiences and situations with students through play. \r\n\r\nThis year we have had an increased number of students who have experienced domestic violence in their homes. We plan to utilize the the children's books in specialized group therapy to address the trauma and family changes that these students have experienced as well.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous contribution to my project. I know these tools will continue to provide amazing opportunities to address healing and trauma with our students. We are excited to continue to use these items for comfort and emotional regulation.
