My students with ADHD, who often struggle to remain still, particularly in the afternoon, now have a valuable and purposeful accommodation. These desks allow them to move and work without being disruptive, significantly improving their focus and engagement. The adjustable height also ensures they're not hunched over, promoting better posture and overall well-being. The flexibility to sit or stand has been a huge hit with the entire class, offering a welcome change of pace and a sense of control over their learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe initial reaction from my students was overwhelmingly positive. The excitement of something new in the classroom was palpable, a welcome break from the usual routine for these eighth graders. The standing desks have quickly become a favorite feature, and I've observed a noticeable increase in student energy and enthusiasm during class. Their ability to move while working have undoubtedly contributed to a more productive and enjoyable learning experience.\r\n\r\nThis project has had a lasting impact on my students, and I'm thrilled to share its success with other teachers in my building. Many colleagues are eager to learn more about how these standing desks have positively impacted student learning and behavior. I believe this project will continue to benefit students for years to come, creating a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment. I am incredibly grateful to our donors for making this possible and for their continued support of education.","fullyFundedDate":1730297203768,"projectUrl":"project/i-like-to-move-it/8694983/","projectTitle":"I Like to Move It!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rupprecht","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1843548_orig.png?crop=271,271,x228,y420&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724956088398","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1843548"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_85876","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":524,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":90.0,"schoolId":85876,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nordonia Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nordonia Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/nordonia-hills-city-school-district/nordonia-middle-school/85876"}
