The funding provided various items that allowed our classroom to assemble care packages for local veterans. The purchased supplies included items to meet basic needs such as soap, a toothbrush, floss, etc. We were also able to provide various snacks, water and candy. Additionally, we wrote Veteran's Day cards, assembled and decorated each box and learned the gift of giving to others. My students learned empathy and compassion as we learned what it means to be a veteran. The assembly of the care packages taught them an abundance of skills such as organization skills, teamwork, and attention to detail to name a few. \r\n\r\nAlong with the organizational skills, teamwork and attention to detail learned from this project, our class really enjoyed learning about the remarkable people who have sacrificed so much for them. They were very touched that someone they had never met cared enough to dedicate their lives to this country. The students had a new sense of patriotism, gratitude and empathy in their lives since taking part in this project. I believe that this experience will be something that they take with them wherever they go in life. Your kindness, generosity and willingness to give back to others has not only impacted local veterans in need, but my students and I as well. Since completing this new community service project, it changed everyone's lives involved. The students and I were truly blown away by all of the items we were able to put in the care packages. The care packages were taken to a local veteran's outreach program in our community. They were\r\nvery appreciative of the donation and it helped stock their food pantry. We hope to continue to give back to the community through other service projects in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1760979258170,"projectUrl":"project/the-gift-of-giving-veteran-care-package/9771762/","projectTitle":"The Gift of Giving: Veteran Care Packages","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lipkovich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9418416_orig.jpg?crop=750,750,x0,y232&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1703120920472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9418416"},{"teacherId":8195850,"projectId":9869514,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your donation to our High School Robotics program and our Drone Team.
