And the calming light sets the tone instantly; it transforms the room into a peaceful environment that invites students to pause, breathe, and reset. Students are learning to recognize when they need a break and how to use this space proactively to manage their emotions. These students are now able to concentrate during independent work time without becoming overwhelmed by classroom noise. The phonics small group set has become a staple in our reading instruction. During small group time, my students have been eagerly participating and making strong progress in their literacy skills. The materials are amazing and nearly completely aligned with Fundations. I've also been using the scented cupcake stickers as an incentive for homework, and the students have enjoyed putting them on their homework folder.\r\n\r\nThanks to the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I was able to purchase so many resources, including math review games that have added excitement to end our math units, extra practice worksheets that support skill-building during centers and independent work, and an entire unit that complements our HMH reading curriculum with matching crafts for each story! My students have loved the crafts! Next week, we'll be starting our Multiplication Olympics and the medals will be a fun and meaningful way to celebrate their hard work and growth as they master their multiplication facts.
