You could hear the excited gasps and giggles as they explored the textures, scooped and poured, and discovered hidden objects.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the sensory bins daily to support a variety of skills: fine motor development, language building, social interaction, and emotional regulation. The children have been scooping and filling the baskets and nests with eggs, bunnies and carrots. They have enjoyed using all senses to explore our Easter themed sensory bin.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom has become a more inclusive, hands-on, and joyful place to learn. I am able to offer a variety of toys to keep them engaged and working together with new and exciting toys.\r\n\r\nWe've been using these materials daily to strengthen fine motor skills, encourage teamwork, and build problem-solving abilities. We have been able to use the science resources during small and whole group times to further explain science concepts. We have been recently learning about seasons and the students have enjoyed sorting the season picture cards into the correct season. Science concepts can be difficult for students to understand so it is nice to have a concrete representation of the seasons that students understand. Five preschool classrooms are able to use the sandbox and sensory toys during recess time. We have not been able to set up the sandbox yet because of the weather but we will be able to in spring. Thank you for donating money that we do not have to provide our students with these play opportunities. Students are able to use the sand for calming their bodies and for building fun sand creations.
