Price Academy we believe that every child deserves to walk into a space that makes them feel excited to learn, safe to explore, and inspired to dream big. Thanks to the new resources, we've begun to bring that vision to life in our Extended Learning Area (ELA).\r\nOur students and teachers are already incorporating the refreshed space into daily learning. The cozy seating has become a favorite spot for reading buddies and one to one tutoring, while small groups gather around tables for work with teachers. Recently, we have used the space for our reading buddies program with 5th and 6th grade students as well as hosting our kindergarten CREW meetings on Fridays.\r\nThe moment students walked in after the updates, their faces lit up. We have heard from our students and other staff that our ELA is a calm, quiet space designed with the biggest impact for our students. Our kindergarten students immediately gravitated toward the bean bag chairs and exploring our rotating bookshelf. The joy and wonder in their reactions confirmed what we already knew: environment matters. Looking ahead, our students will continue to use the ELA for ongoing projects that blend creativity and academics. For example, we are about to begin our partnership with UC bearcat buddies, who will be using the space for tutoring. \r\nThank you for believing in the power of environment to uplift, inspire, and transform young lives.","fullyFundedDate":1749507442471,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-magical-extended-learning-spa/9389950/","projectTitle":"Creating a Magical Extended Learning Space","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Peyton-Reed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10005231_orig.jpg?crop=667,667,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748533976155","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10005231"},{"teacherId":9134968,"projectId":9263387,"letterContent":"The 4th grade students here are loving our new ELA (extended learning area) set up! When the students first saw our ELA transformed into a castle, they were in awe! They love to see it when they walk in every day. \r\n\r\nFor the next steps with this project, I would love to see our students write their own book about our castle with themselves as the characters! I think it would be so amazing for them to be able to make themselves a character and be whoever they want to be. I think they are very inspired by our castle set up. High-quality headphones are providing clear and immersive sound, which is essential when using educational software, audiobooks, or listening to instructions. For young students, especially those in first grade, being able to hear sounds clearly and without distractions are improving focus and engagement during lessons. This is making a difference in how well they understand instructions or absorb educational content, leading to better learning outcomes.\r\n\r\nMoreover, high-quality headphones are helping reduce external distractions in a bustling classroom environment. First graders are often easily distracted by noises in their surroundings, which can disrupt their ability to concentrate. By using these headphones, students are better able to focus on individual tasks, whether it's listening to a teacher's read-aloud session, completing a digital activity, or working independently. This creates an environment conducive to learning, where each child's attention can be directed solely at their task, fostering better individual and group progress in academic development. Ultimately, the investment in good-quality headphones is ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have equal access to a rich, distraction-free educational experience.","fullyFundedDate":1736727532184,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-tune-into-success-with/9047616/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Tune Into Success With Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Everett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5536669_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1531768619013","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/melissa-sandahl"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_84328","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":539,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":44,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":36,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 7","studentTeacherRatio":"24.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.7,"schoolId":84328,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rees E Price Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rees E Price Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/cincinnati-public-schools/rees-e-price-academy/84328"}
