Having a sensory pad in our special ed classroom helped out numerous times already. Sensory pads are used for tactile stimulation, this benefits the children with emotional support, self regulation, and just help bring the student back down.\r\n\r\n Since adding this to our classroom it has helped our kids with self regulation, which is a big thing that a lot of them struggle with. This has become a great outlet for the students. The main benefit we are seeing from this sensory pad is the students are able to come back to their tasks calmer. This has become a safe place for them, a place that they feel comfortable and want to talk more about what is going on or bothering them. \r\n\r\n Again, thank you all for your donations. We are so happy to have this as a part of our unit. It will have much use for our students now and upcoming students.","fullyFundedDate":1734816368089,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-pad/8993682/","projectTitle":"Sensory Pad","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Courtney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9866739"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_84609","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":235,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":84609,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/buckeye-local-school-district-jefferson/north-elementary-school/84609"}
