We use the computer everyday to do our circle time songs, get our wiggle out during the day when we can't go outside due to the weather, and listen to an audio story as the teacher shows us the book pages.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting thing for the students is that they get to experience how to use a computer and how to navigate using a mouse. Some students don't have the opportunity at home to use a computer so in class and this is all new to them.\r\n\r\nStudents have enjoyed being able to play our curriculum games on the computer. We weren't able to do that before because the software was too old. Students are now able to learn and grow using the curriculum games we can play on the computer.","fullyFundedDate":1758802414640,"projectUrl":"project/updating-technology-one-computer-at-a-ti/9660501/","projectTitle":"Updating Technology One Computer at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dorothy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7754535_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1612808209020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7754535"},{"teacherId":7754535,"projectId":9385790,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for sponsoring my project! My students are really loving the light table and are able to get some visual sensory input while playing with the light table. This gives them a new experience during play. The spinning chair has been a wonderful addition to our sensory options for the students who have autism. They have been able to calm their bodies with the spinning chair and are able to rejoin the class quickly after taking a sensory break with the spinning chair. The students will even ask to go to the spinning chair. \r\nWhen my students first saw the materials they were so excited! They couldn't wait for everything to be put into the classroom. The pluffle has been exciting for the students! They have never felt that texture before and a timer had to be put on the pluffle center so the students could all have a turn at that center.\r\nThe students are really starting to understand their sensory needs within the classroom thanks to your donation and are now able to calm their bodies to be able to learn. We will be working on continuing to have the students sensory needs met so they can learn and grow throughout the year.
