That is evident every week they come to the library to checkout books. During one visit, I shared the new books with the students to build enthusiasm. The impact of having these additional novels has been felt from the moment I introduced the copies to them. These novels are required reading in their grade level and they haven't started them yet but they excitedly asked their ELA teachers when they were going to start reading the novels. Here is what we hope will be an additional impact on our students. Being able to provide each student with their own copy of a novel will support stronger, more equitable literacy learning. When students don't have to share, they can read at their own pace, follow along during class discussion, and annotate the text reliably — all practices that strengthen comprehension and metacognitive skills. Individual copies let students revisit passages for close reading, and track character development and thematic threads. This fosters ownership of learning and encourages independent reading habits that transfer to other subjects.\r\n\r\nAccess to enough copies of reading material also improves participation, fluency, and differentiated instruction. Teachers can assign in-class reading, quick checks, or small-group work without having to share or wait for additional copies to come in; struggling readers can reread sections or use sticky-note supports, while advanced readers can explore extension tasks, all using the same edition. Having a copy at hand promotes reading fluency through repeated, uninterrupted practice and makes formative assessment (annotations, reading journals, exit tickets) more authentic. Finally, equitable access reduces stigma and barriers for our students who might otherwise be left out, supporting a classroom culture where every student can engage confidently with text-based learning.\r\n\r\nOur goal is to ultimately elevate our students' literacy and reading skills to grade level and beyond. Having these additional copies of novel sets is one piece of the puzzle that will help them get there. The new fitness equipment has made an incredible impact on our students and the way they approach physical education. Here's a glimpse of how we've been using the resources and how it's benefiting the students:\r\n\r\nSince receiving the new equipment, we've incorporated it into our daily lessons and have seen some amazing results. One particular classroom project that stands out is when we organized a \"Fitness Challenge Week\" where students could track their progress using the new equipment. It wasn't just about the physical activity; it also helped students set personal goals, work as a team, and improve their self-confidence. We used everything from jump ropes to resistance bands, and the students really embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves in new ways.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe first time the students saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless! There were wide smiles, cheers, and even some jumping up and down with excitement. It was clear they felt empowered to try something new, and that enthusiasm translated into greater engagement in class. I saw students encouraging each other, and the class energy shifted in such a positive direction.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the next steps for our students involve continuing to build on the momentum we've gained. We're working on creating a \"fitness portfolio\" where students track their physical progress over time, reflecting on their achievements and setting new fitness goals. It's been so rewarding to see how the new equipment has not only improved their physical abilities but also helped foster a growth mindset. Our next classroom project is a \"Wellness and Fitness Fair,\" where students will get to showcase their fitness routines and teach their peers about the importance of staying active.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this all possible! Your support has truly changed the way our students approach fitness, and we're excited for the future.","fullyFundedDate":1733362749950,"projectUrl":"project/fitness-fitness-fitness-health-and-bo/8709824/","projectTitle":"Fitness!
