Through Donors Choose, over $7,650 of classroom and learning materials were raised for my public school students in NC. I appreciate you beyond words.\r\n\r\nThis project in particular provided each student with their own copy of Dr. Seuss' \"Oh, the Places You'll Go!\" with personal notes from me and their other kindergarten teachers. Families received a note with directions for collecting yearly notes so that students will have a sweet gift upon their high school commencement. \r\n\r\nLearning materials and goodies were also included in the summer reading bags. Students were overjoyed to receive the bags at our Author's Showcase event. After receiving items, some were added to a Farmers Market themed center. Students were able to shop the market for healthy fruits and vegetables. They loved making lists of the items they were buying and weighing them. I loved watching how excited they were about the writing being incorporated into play! Next, we transformed that area to a post office for the holidays. Students drew pictures and wrote each other letters. They were able to put them into our new play mailbox. We currently have a vet clinic setup in our room. Students are caring for animal stuffies. It is precious to watch their communication skills with classmates as they provide this care. \r\n\r\nIt has been incredible to see students excitement after a big transformation to a new center. With the new materials, I've been able to incorporate writing, reading, math, and science into our play. Students are truly learning so much through it. I couldn't be more proud of the community we've built together in our room, and this dramatic play center supports it. I already can't wait to transform this area to a campground when the weather warms up a bit! \r\n\r\nThank you so much to everyone that donated. You have made a difference in our room.
