Many people use microphones and headphones every day without realizing how essential they are in real-world production, but now my students understand exactly how this technology shapes the games they love. With the new equipment, they can record crisp voiceovers, build their own sound effects, and truly hear the difference that professional-quality audio makes. The most exciting part for students has been discovering their own creative voices—literally. Several students who were previously shy about participating have become the go-to sound designers in class, experimenting with narration, character voices, and environmental audio. Your support didn't just upgrade our equipment; it unlocked new confidence, passion, and pride in their work.","fullyFundedDate":1754764250624,"projectUrl":"project/voices-vibes-and-victory-audio-tools/9305181/","projectTitle":"Voices, Vibes, and Victory: Audio Tools for Future Game Designers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McDaniel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/120296"},{"teacherId":120296,"projectId":9159311,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed by the Debugging Kits for Future Programmers. These kits have given my students hands-on access to tools that bring coding concepts out of the textbook and into real-world problem-solving. While many people use technology daily, these kits allow my students to look under the hood of computing—developing the skills and confidence to find, fix, and understand the \"why\" behind errors in their programs.\r\n\r\nFor my students, the most exciting part is the immediate feedback. They're no longer just staring at a screen wondering why something isn't working—they now have the right hardware and software tools to trace problems, test solutions, and actually see their progress. It's been incredible to watch their frustration turn into excitement as they move from \"Why won't this work?\" to \"I figured it out!\"\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously quiet or hesitant in class have especially warmed to this technology. One student who often avoided volunteering now proudly walks peers through the debugging process, almost like a coach. Another student who once struggled with staying focused has become so absorbed in solving challenges with the kits that she stays after class to finish projects. These stories highlight how the kits aren't just teaching technical skills—they're building persistence, teamwork, and self-confidence.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped unlock future pathways for these students, preparing them for careers in computer science, engineering, and beyond. Thank you for giving them the tools to see themselves not just as users of technology, but as creators and problem-solvers.","fullyFundedDate":1746038951045,"projectUrl":"project/debugging-kits-for-future-programmers/9159311/","projectTitle":"Debugging Kits for Future Programmers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McDaniel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/120296"},{"teacherId":9488652,"projectId":9112330,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to Broughton's visual arts department. With the new school year kicking off, we are loving the new supplies! This year, we are planning to do still life paintings using the new table easels. We are also planning to do screen printing in commercial art using the new screens and masking fluid. The advanced sculpture students have just gotten started with planning their wheel-thrown vessels and have started sketching some fabulously unique forms that they will use the Giffin grip to trim\r\n\r\nUpon sharing with the sculpture & ceramics students that we now have a Giffin Grip and brand-new bats for the pottery wheels, they were ecstatic and began thinking of all of the things they could make on the wheel. The IB and advanced students were so excited to know that they have more storage for paintings and new table easels. We can't wait to use them in the classroom! \r\n\r\nOur visual arts department is incredibly thankful to have supporters of public education.
