They marvelled as their own photo-negatives became blue images on paper as they dipped the paper in water baths. This introduction to developing images was a fantastic integration of chemistry and art (and \"magic\"). They used lace, and shells and other objects that were meaningful, to make photograms that are beautiful and personal. The lession incorporated photography techniques, digital editing, creating negatives and printing. All skills that make them career ready.\r\n\r\nMy printmaking class students were the ones who learned how to coat paper with the emulsion. They will continue to create more experimental images to finish out the school year. Printmaking students also used the screens to collaborate on screen prints. We completed that project before the cyanotypes. Some of them are going to use their screen designs next week to print on the cyanotype paper, experimenting and learning more deeply about how printing media interact. They learned how to prepare screens for printing and how the ink responds (sometimes not the way they expected). Students use headphones to clearly hear instructional videos, teacher demonstrations, software tutorials, and project feedback without the distractions of a busy computer lab.\r\n\r\nFor students learning complex 3D modeling software, being able to see and hear instructions at the same time is especially valuable. The headphones allow students to work at their own pace, pause and replay demonstrations, and concentrate on detailed modeling tasks without disrupting classmates.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also helped create a more focused and professional learning environment. Students can concentrate on their creative projects, troubleshoot problems independently, and spend more time actively designing rather than waiting for teacher assistance.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this technology gives students access to the same type of tools they may encounter in college, technical training programs, and creative technology careers.
