It was an exciting day when our wobble stools came!! My students were beyond excited about these new additions to our classroom.\r\n\r\nI strive to meet not only their academic needs but emotional and physical needs as well. Our classroom is fast paced and very engaging but having wobble stools gives students a positive way to channel their energy. The stools offer a seating alternative that is engaging and easily managed. They have been such a hit and thanks to you, my entire reading group has a wobble stool to use during our small group time! These resources made my classroom a fun and inviting place to come learn each day. Even upcoming students said they couldn't wait until the next school year so they could enjoy the stools too.\r\n\r\nAll of this would not be possible without your willingness to give and generous donations. Using instruments excites students about learning music and allows students the opportunity to put into practice the theoretical music concepts they learn in their lessons. The ukuleles provided through your donations to the project \"Strumming Along and Getting Along: Building Community with Ukuleles\" have given my students an exciting new instrument to use as a whole group, in small collaborative groups and individually.\r\n\r\nWhen they first saw the ukuleles, they gasped with delight! Playing this instrument is a new thing for these students and they were so excited to get their hands on them and begin learning to play!\r\n\r\nAs we progress through the ukulele unit of instruction, students will work to learn specific chords and songs that use those chords. This grant provided boogie boards for every student in my classroom to use on a daily basis. A boogie board takes the place of white boards, markers, and erasers. It has become an essential part of our every day learning. We use the boogie boards throughout the entire day. Students are able to grab a boogie board as we solve math problems, practice handwriting, or anything else that requires a student response. It adds an element of engagement as well and students are more motivated because they get to use the boogie boards. They were beyond excited the day the boogie boards arrived and that excitement was contagious. All of this was possible because of your kindness and generosity. I hope you know what a difference you make in the lives of students and teachers. Having the tools you need to be successful is an essential part of learning. In this digital age, my students use and access technology in the classroom on a daily basis. Headphones have become an essential part of the elementary classroom but are costly. I teach in a rural school and I wanted to provide this resource to students at no cost to their families. You helped that become a reality with your generous support! Now every student in our grade level has a set of headphones for their own personal use. The headphones came in many different colors and students were so excited to choose a pair of their very own.
