We are not required to have a physical textbook to teach this class anymore and this is only my 2nd year teaching it. I have been struggling to find quality materials for notes, assignments, and tests. These resources have made it possible for me to take my class to the next level in terms of rigor. \r\n\r\nMy students were a little bummed when they heard I got resources for better homework and assessments. Those feelings didn't last long, though. I have been able to complete multiple projects in multiple classes with these items. There are students in my class that wouldn't have had the experience they did because of your generosity. I complete a Castle Project to help with volume of 3d shapes. With the size of my classes, I need to provide so many materials to my students. There were a few students that told me they wouldn't have been able to complete there project if it wasn't for the supplies you provided. \r\n\r\nWhen I unboxed the storage shelf my students were in awe that someone that didn't know me would provide that for me. They were also very appreciative because it made my room so much more organized and less cluttered. Some students had to walk around where I was previously storing my project materials. I love putting things together, but they were so excited for my new addition that they took over that project instead of working on theirs. \r\n\r\nI am currently teaching a senior math class for the first time and will be asking for different project materials in the near future. I am looking in the future curriculum and trying to decide what project I could do next. Hands on projects are much more applicable to real word situations so I try to do those rather than give a paper pencil test.","fullyFundedDate":1746548016823,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-and-project-supplies/9058274/","projectTitle":"Classroom and Project Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. LaRue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9491040_orig.jpg?crop=1663,1663,x614,y90&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736947877706","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9491040"},{"teacherId":370145,"projectId":9241367,"letterContent":"The new materials have completely transformed our ESL Lit Lounge! The cozy rug and graphic novels have created a welcoming space where students feel comfortable and motivated to read. One of our favorite moments so far was during our Multilingual Family Engagement Night. Students used the trifold poster boards to create beautiful displays about their family heritage. They proudly presented projects on countries such as Guatemala, Venezuela, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras, sharing personal stories, traditions, and cultural facts. It was a powerful night of connection, pride, and learning for both students and their families.\r\nMy students were excited, shocked, and very grateful! Many couldn't believe these resources were just for them. The rug instantly became a favorite reading spot, and the graphic novels flew off the shelves. The storage cabinet was a much-needed addition to our classroom and brought a new sense of organization and ownership to our shared space.\r\nThe graphic novels and storage cabinet will remain staples in our ESL classroom for years to come. Students are currently using the novels in small group reading sessions to build vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence. We'll continue to incorporate the trifold boards into future projects to help students build research and presentation skills as they explore themes of identity, culture, and community.","fullyFundedDate":1746548016934,"projectUrl":"project/lit-lounge-where-literature-comes-to-li/9241367/","projectTitle":"Lit Lounge: Where Literature Comes to Life in ESL","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mac","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp370145_orig.jpg?crop=1464,1464,x25,y583&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744038552126","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/370145"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3276","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":863,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":93.5,"schoolId":3276,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Randleman High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Randleman High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/randolph-county-school-district/randleman-high-school/3276"}
