These materials have quickly made a noticeable difference in how students manage stress and focus throughout the school day. My students balance demanding academics, activities, and personal responsibilities, and the coloring books, colored pencils, and markers provide a calming outlet that helps them pause, reset, and re-engage with learning. Many students have shared that coloring helps quiet their minds and makes it easier to concentrate afterward.\r\n\r\nThe teen-focused coloring books, especially those with calming patterns and positive affirmations, have been well loved. We use them for brain breaks, mindfulness moments, and early finishers, and they have also inspired journaling and creative writing. Several students regularly ask to return to coloring later in the day because it helps them refocus and feel less overwhelmed. Your support has helped create a classroom environment that values creativity, emotional well-being, and balance, and my students truly appreciate having these tools available to them each day.","fullyFundedDate":1758636578318,"projectUrl":"project/color-your-calm-encouraging-teens-to-fi/9640084/","projectTitle":"Color Your Calm: Encouraging Teens to Find Focus and Positivity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Blank","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9807691_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744511036430","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9807691"},{"teacherId":10026928,"projectId":9887153,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding this project. Because of your donation, my 9th grade students had the incredible opportunity to read powerful young adult novels that brought the concept of the hero's journey to life in a way that was meaningful, relevant, and deeply personal, and helped them see themselves as their own hero.\r\n\r\nWith these new books, students were able to form small reading groups and explore how characters faced adversity, made difficult choices, and experienced growth and transformation. These stories sparked important conversations—not just about plot and structure—but about life, identity, and the challenges that shape who we are. As students analyzed their characters' journeys, they also began to reflect on their own. Many shared personal connections to the themes of resilience, self-discovery, and courage, and our classroom became a space for honest, supportive dialogue.\r\n\r\nReading in small groups allowed students to collaborate, share insights, and challenge one another's thinking in powerful ways. They weren't just completing assignments—they were engaging in real, authentic learning. I saw students become more confident in their voices, more willing to take risks in discussion, and more invested in the texts they were reading.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students didn't just study the hero's journey—they lived it, through reading, reflection, and connection with one another. Because of your generous donation, my students had the incredible opportunity to read from a collection of high-quality, culturally diverse novels that brought fresh energy and meaning to our reading this past school year.\r\n\r\nThese books helped students grow in so many ways. They learned how to analyze complex characters, uncover deeper themes, and explore literature through cultural and global lenses. Just as importantly, they began to see stories as windows into other lives, mirrors of their own experiences, and sliding glass doors into new worlds—building empathy, critical thinking, and global awareness along the way.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom became something students looked forward to.
