I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your generous donations that helped us bring new seating cushions and exciting STEM activities into our classroom. Your support has made such a meaningful impact—not only on our learning environment but also on the daily experience of each student who walks through our door.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, our classroom now has a more flexible, comfortable, and student-centered seating arrangement. The cushions you helped provide have truly transformed how my students engage in their learning. Many of my students benefit from movement and choice throughout the day, and the ability to grab a cushion and work from a quiet corner or gather in a circle has made a huge difference. I've seen increased focus, more collaboration, and overall happier learners simply because they feel more at ease and empowered in their space. It's amazing how something as simple as a cushion can change the energy of a room!\r\n\r\nBeyond that, your donations allowed us to dive into some hands-on STEM learning that had the students absolutely buzzing with excitement. One of the biggest hits was making our very own bouncy balls. The students loved mixing the ingredients, predicting outcomes, and of course, testing out their creations. There were squeals of joy, so many questions flying, and lots of curiosity sparked. It was the perfect blend of fun and education—just the kind of moment that makes learning stick.\r\n\r\nAnother huge favorite was setting up our coin-sorting machine. This project not only involved building and testing, but also critical thinking, teamwork, and trial-and-error problem solving. The students were fascinated by how different mechanisms could be used to sort by size and weight, and they took great pride in working together to make it function smoothly. Some of them even started brainstorming their own inventions, and I can tell that we're growing future engineers, inventors, and creative thinkers right here in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThese activities may seem like small additions, but to my students, they are gateways to discovery, confidence, and joy. Your support has helped nurture a classroom culture where learning feels exciting and accessible, and where students feel valued and encouraged to explore new ideas.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart—and on behalf of every curious, creative student in my class—thank you. Your generosity has gone far beyond just items; you've helped create memories, spark passions, and foster a learning environment where all students feel like they belong and can succeed.\r\n\r\nWe appreciate you so much, and we'll carry your kindness with us throughout the school year. I'll be sure to share updates as we take on more projects and continue learning with joy!","fullyFundedDate":1741740880087,"projectUrl":"project/flex-seating-and-snacks/9152697/","projectTitle":"Flex Seating and Snacks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Honaker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9504266_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1711977113380","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9504266"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1754","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":527,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.8,"schoolId":1754,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sand Ridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sand Ridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/onslow-county-school-district/sandridge-elementary-school/1754"}
