Your kindness and support during such a challenging time have meant more than words can express. \r\n\r\n When the materials arrived, my students' faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to open the boxes, explore, and dive into hands-on activities. From exploring the Science Discovery kits, the Changing Seasons, and Sensory Tubes, every item you provided has sparked their curiosity and made learning more fun and meaningful. \r\n\r\n All of the items donated have made a world of difference. Our classroom is now filled with hands-on learning tools, books, and creative resources that help my young students explore, imagine, and grow every day. These items have not only enhanced their academic development but have also brought smiles and excitement to our daily routines. \r\n \r\n Your generosity came at a critical time, especially as we continue to recover from the effects of Hurricane Helene. Your support reminded us that we are not alone, and it has had a lasting impact on both me as an educator and on the children who benefit from your kindness every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1734703731580,"projectUrl":"project/little-scientist/8937716/","projectTitle":"Little Scientist","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Martha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7931222_orig.jpg?crop=1651,1651,x0,y225&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731372765910","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7931222"},{"teacherId":9813338,"projectId":8902893,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your very thoughtfulness to help my classroom during this devastating time. As we opened our temporally classroom in a school build, we did not have much to work with. So, when your packages started arriving the children were so excited to see what was in the packages as they were delivered to us. They would sit down as a group and try to guess what was inside of the boxes before we opened them.\r\n I believe their favorite item was the magnet tiles. They built so many different things with them and would go get people, dinosaurs, animals or insects to put inside of them or on them. The kids sometimes would spend their hole free play just using their imagination to build different things with them. One student made a pizza box and ten made a pizza to go inside it.\r\n They were able to use these items for fine motor skills, counting skills and gross motor skills inside and outside the classroom. We were able to use the Scooter seats inside on raining days as well as outside to work those gross motor skills. \r\n Your donation has been so helpful for my classroom and again I would like to say thank you so much. All the items you have donated will also be of great use in my new classroom as we are rebuilding and hope to be in there by the next school year.","fullyFundedDate":1732136396366,"projectUrl":"project/coming-back-strong-from-hurricane-helene/8902893/","projectTitle":"Coming back Strong from Hurricane Helene!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Karen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9813338_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y405&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730142569305","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9813338"},{"teacherId":9814904,"projectId":8903292,"letterContent":"I cannot express how grateful my students and I are for the generous donations we received to begin rebuilding our classroom. When we were able to open our classroom in the temporary location we received basic donations of a few blocks, and toys, and various art supplies. We were able to make a short-term learning space to get almost 100 disadvantaged children back into classrooms. Within a few weeks my 18 students needed more. Stretching of limited supplies and boredom became the norm, which was not ideal for learning. It was with YOUR donations that we were able to resume learning in the fun engaging ways that we were used to. As your donations began to roll in the children began looking forward to our carpet time where we would unbox our new materials together. The community helpers set, and the gears for our science center were big hits.\r\nThe many different building materials, manipulatives, and books have made a huge difference in our free play centers, encouraging independent play and fostering higher order thinking skills. One of our favorite projects has been following the ants in our ant farm and learning about their life cycle. We have examined the ants and their habitat up close and do weekly drawing drawings comparing how the ants are growing, eating and creating a more elaborate home for themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1734544831769,"projectUrl":"project/rebuilding-our-classroom/8903292/","projectTitle":"Rebuilding Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9814904_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733453912051","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9814904"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_118059","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":86,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":77,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.6,"schoolId":118059,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Quaker Meadows Generations Head Start on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Quaker Meadows Generations Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/office-of-head-start/quaker-meadows-generations/118059"}
