Because of your kindness, our students spent their art quarter surrounded by vibrant watercolor paints, clay that came to life through their imaginations, and tempera paints and brushes that turned everyday lessons into true works of art. You didn't just supply materials—you supplied possibility, excitement, and the joy of exploration. Our classroom buzzed with curiosity as students discovered new mediums, techniques, and ways to express themselves, making this a year bursting with creativity and confidence.\r\n\r\nOne of the highlights of the quarter was, without a doubt, our clay projects. For many of my students, this was their very first experience working with clay as it had not been done in our school for many years, if ever. Watching them shift from flat, two-dimensional thinking to creating real, three-dimensional forms was nothing short of magical. They learned perseverance, problem-solving, and pride in their work as their ideas quite literally took shape in their hands.\r\n\r\nThere truly aren't enough words to express the impact your generosity has had on my students' learning experiences. You filled our art room with color, wonder, and a powerful key to creativity that will stay with these students far beyond this school year. I am forever grateful for your support and belief in the importance of the arts. Thank you for helping us inspire young artists and for making our classroom a place where imagination thrives and creativity knows no limits.","fullyFundedDate":1756901805553,"projectUrl":"project/splatter-sculpt-bringing-color-crea/9666337/","projectTitle":"Splatter & Sculpt: Bringing Color & Creativity to Our Class","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilkie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8984022_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1678809567152","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8984022"},{"teacherId":8984022,"projectId":9088124,"letterContent":"Our guinea pigs, Peanut Butter and Jelly, have now been a part of our classroom for a little over a month, and the kids are in love! Peanut Butter and Jelly kinda like the kids, too, especially when the kids save veggies for them from the cafeteria. I cannot thank you enough for helping my kids finally get the class pets that they worked so hard to earn. \r\n\r\nSo far they have been a fabulous tool for a number of positive changes in my classroom. While my main goal was to provide some positive incentives for my students, our classroom pets have been extremely helpful in regulating big emotions for some of my students that struggle. I can find students just standing in front of the cage, watching them calm themselves down on their own now, which has been amazing to see that growth in them. The kids found a soothing method that worked for them, and they could make that choice independently for themselves. \r\n\r\nWe also created a Pig Pass that you can earn through positive behaviors, and kids can sit in a little fenced area with the pigs during workshop time. Our classroom actually argues over who will help me clean their cage every morning, and they all want to help feed them! The kids notice when their water is low and will volunteer to fill their water bottle without me asking. I am seeing them take responsibility for something other than themselves! \r\n\r\nPeanut Butter and Jelly have brought joy, laughter, and love to our classroom, which would not have been possible without donors like you. Thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1738604861136,"projectUrl":"project/guinea-pigs-with-purpose-learning-empat/9088124/","projectTitle":"Guinea Pigs with Purpose: Learning Empathy, Compassion, and Responsibility","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilkie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8984022_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1678809567152","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8984022"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108216","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":621,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":45,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":84.0,"schoolId":108216,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Winterville Charter Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Winterville Charter Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/north-carolina-department-of-education/winterville-charter-academy/108216"}
