Thank you so much for the resources and materials that help engage my students with all of their senses as they are learning to read and write! These resources are beneficial for my little learners who are still learning to identify letters and sounds all the way to my little learners who are already reading and writing many words! I am grateful that your gift serves the entire population of my classroom!\r\n\r\nI primarily use these materials and resources for small group reading intervention groups. I use the mnemonic alphabet cards to practice letter sounds and letter identification. The visual cues really help my students who are struggling to make connections between the written letter and the sound or name. I use the segmenting trays with my students as we build words to read or write. I will put the magnetic letters we are using that day in the tray and little circle manipulatives. When given a word to read, we will say the sound and put a manipulative for each sound in the word onto the circles in the tray. Then we will do this with the magnetic letters. Last, we will blend the sounds together to read the word. We will also take magnetic letters and change out sounds to make new words. I would not be able to make my small groups as hands-on as they are without your generosity. Students are excited to come to small group to get to use all of their new reading tools! \r\n\r\nThese resources are also used by students individually or in independent partner pairs or groups. Students love using the letter tracing sensory pad to practice proper letter formation! They are much more engaged in my writing with a fun pen on a gel pad than on a piece of paper! This sensory writing pad also allows students to use their finger to feel the formation of the letter they are working on. My students also love the sort that sound activity set, and I love the skills that it helps build. Students need to say the name of the picture, determine its first sound, and then sort it under the correct sound! In the Learn My Letters Clip Activity, my students who are practicing letter identification independently use clips to match to the letter on a card. Not only does this help these students develop mastery in letter identification, but it also provides fine motor practice that is so crucial for their little hands as they learn to write! \r\n\r\nThank you for investing in students, my classroom, and my reading instruction! Your donations have not only helped my students to engage more in their learning, but these tools have been invaluable as they are connecting sounds to written words. Your generosity has provided tools developed with evidence-based reading instruction strategies in mind. Thank you for supporting my classroom and my readers in this way.
