This has been a fun way to practice our skills and gives us a break from using our screens and/or completing practice sheets. Their favorite one is the figurative language game, they love playing with language in this way and learning new ways to say things. They get really excited when they see the games out and are constantly asking to play these games in their free time. The watercolor paints have already been used in a project on landscapes with 6th and 8th grade. An upcoming artist study of Edvard Munch with 7th grade students will further utilize these paints. Additionally, the paper cutter is being used in preparation for lessons with all students. The sharpie markers were used in a project on geometric shapes as well as a project exploring the complementary colors. \r\n\r\n I strive for the art room to be a place of self expression and creativity and can safely state that these materials have aided in that mission.
