Many of them rushed over, sat down, and immediately asked if they could read or work from there. It has quickly become a favorite spot in our technology classroom.\r\n\r\nWe use the couch as more than a comfortable seat. Students take turns reading aloud from coding books, STEM magazines, and digital literacy stories while their classmates gather around. During group projects, the couch provides a relaxed space for peer-to-peer conversations, planning robotics builds, or reviewing scripts for presentations. One special moment was when a group of students sat together on the couch brainstorming their ideas for our coding challenge. The relaxed environment allowed every voice to be heard, especially from students who are usually shy in front of the class.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped create a balanced environment where technology and reading connect. Students now see that our classroom is not only about screens and devices but also about taking time to reflect, read, and share ideas in a comfortable space.\r\n\r\nThe next step for my students is to use the couch as part of a new digital storytelling project. They will be designing short technology-themed stories that combine reading with coding animations. The couch will serve as our \"story corner,\" where students can share their projects with their peers in an inviting way.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than provide furniture. It has shaped the way students experience learning, turning our technology classroom into a place that feels like home.","fullyFundedDate":1746786175481,"projectUrl":"project/empower-tech-students-with-a-cozy-readin/9201790/","projectTitle":"Empower Tech Students with a Cozy Reading Couch","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wade","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7278808_orig.jpg?crop=1365,1365,x0,y31&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1646800622874","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7278808"},{"teacherId":9210795,"projectId":8723167,"letterContent":"I want to express my deep gratitude for what you have done. I have been sharing Latin culture with my students and using all the material that you have provided has made my lessons more engaged. They loved to listen to the stories of the books related to capitals cities like Bogota and San Juan, some of them are from Puerto Rico and when they looked at the book they felt so excited about reading the story aloud. We could compare our typical food that they had the opportunity to try in one huge activity in the gym of the school where all Hispanic families were invited to share a little of their countries.\r\n\r\nColoring pages of Latin scenes were used in the classroom to reinforce the knowledge of Hispanic culture, students were enthusiastic at the moment of decorating their pictures and dancing one of the most typical rhythms from Latin America, salsa music. They always enjoy dancing and listening to the songs.\r\n\r\n Students were absolutely happy when they saw the game BINGO, they really enjoyed it and the next class when I saw them, they asked me to play it again. \r\n\r\nAlso, I need to thank you for the snacks provided. Every time that I do a classroom activity related to competitions, games or contests, students are more likely to participate because they know that there is a snack for the best participants. These resources have truly made a difference in my classroom and in the learning experiences of my students.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were beyond excited. Their eyes lit up and since then, we've incorporated these resources into a variety of activities and lessons.\r\n\r\nWe use the dry erase pockets for math warm-ups, allowing students to practice problems in a way that feels more interactive and engaging. One of the most memorable moments was when we played a math game where students raced to solve problems and proudly displayed their answers on their whiteboards. The excitement and confidence they felt in sharing their work were truly heartwarming.\r\n\r\nThese resources have also made it much easier for me to quickly assess student understanding. By using the whiteboards for quick checks and interactive games, I can instantly see where they're succeeding and where they might need a bit more support. Plus, the cleaning solution and microfiber towel keep everything looking fresh and ready for the next challenge.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to use these materials as we progress through our math lessons and other subjects. My students are becoming more confident in sharing their ideas and collaborating with their peers, and it's all thanks to your generosity. Your support has not only provided us with tools but has also boosted my students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for making such a positive impact on our classroom.
