Because of you, our classroom has been filled with excitement and creativity as we dive into the world of Greek mythology.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes of paints, craft supplies, and writing materials arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement. Many of them eagerly pulled out the materials, already brainstorming which god, goddess, or mythological creature they wanted to bring to life. For several students, this was the first time they've had access to such a wide variety of art supplies, and their joy was contagious.\r\n\r\nWe will be using these resources to design and build dioramas that represent scenes from myths we've studied. Students are combining art and writing as they craft detailed scenes and then describe their projects in their own words.\r\n\r\nFor many of my 6th graders, this is their first Social Studies class, and your generosity has helped spark their curiosity and love of learning about the past in a way they will always remember.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us make history come alive in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Your kindness has truly made a difference for my students, especially in a year when so many of their families are still recovering from Hurricane Helene. This year has been a strange teaching experience for myself, as well as, a strange learning experience for my students. This year my students and I have learned that we are resilient, and we have support around us from individuals like you! We thank you for that support.\r\nWhen my students realized we got funded for our project they made comments like, \"We got the good pencils.\" and \"We have the erasers that don't leave smudges.\" We were also able to make copies of practice worksheets and interactive lessons.
