We've wanted to purchase a large assortment of sports balls and jump ropes, but have been unable to purchase them independently.\r\nWith nearly 600 students in our school we \"go through\" the sports equipment. They kids so love playing soccer, football, tether ball, and with our new basketball court--basketball on the upper playground. The developing skills of the future volleyball players are also growing. \r\nNone of this would have been possible without your generosity. Each day, when we're headed outside, I have 2 or 3 children from just my class to ask can they go get a ball. Each child has a different sports favorite. It is a blessing that they can just head down the hall to where the equipment is stored and grab it.\r\nWatching them jump rope and attempt the \"double-dutch\" brings back many fond memories...just as they are creating new memories of sweet childhood activities.\r\nThank you so very much!","fullyFundedDate":1760840109437,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-the-ball-rolling-at-the-rive/9546230/","projectTitle":"Let's Get the \"Ball Rolling\" at the River! **Sports Equipment**","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Laura Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7550821_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754624728751","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7550821"},{"teacherId":7550821,"projectId":9498354,"letterContent":"It was like Christmas! I've longed for large containers of markers and colored pencils for years in the classroom, but have been unable to purchase them independently.\r\nI cannot express to you how beneficial these materials were for my class. We have utilized them in both Science and Math. \r\nIn Math we've used it to differentiate numerators from denominators, mixed numbers (whole numbers from their fraction counterparts), and in many other ways when creating models for multiplying fractions. \r\nIn Science, we've used it to draw out and describe the different body systems. These include, but weren't limited to the digestive system, circulatory/cardiovascular systems, respiratory, nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems. Being able to signify each system was so beneficial. Thank you again, so much for your generosity in assisting my students in \"learning in color\". \r\nWe will continue using these writing utensils as we move into ecosystems, food chains/webs, and eventually into the world of force and motion. There excitement is contagious and it makes me excited, too.\r\n\r\nI have already starting labeling our new books with levels and information so students can be reading on their level. Several of the books I have on my shelves are so loved that I have decided to replace them with these new books. I will be sending each student home with a well loved book from our shelves for them to keep. Having the opportunity to add books to our classroom library has been a blessing.\r\n\r\nI hope that these books will see as much love as the others book on my bookshelves and that they can be enjoyed for many years to come.
