The arrival of the microscopes brought a wave of excitement and curiosity that filled the room—my students' eyes lit up the moment they saw them, and the sense of wonder hasn't faded since.\r\n\r\nWe've already begun exploring the microscopic world in our science unit. One of the first activities involved examining onion skin cells and pond water samples. The students were amazed to discover that a whole hidden world exists beyond what we can see with the naked eye. One student exclaimed, \"I didn't know science could be this cool!\" That moment alone made your support worth it.\r\n\r\nThese microscopes have opened up a hands-on approach to learning that we couldn't achieve before. We're now moving into a project where students will collect samples from around our school—leaves, soil, even dust—and analyze them to learn more about biodiversity and ecosystems. The excitement and engagement have soared, and students are asking deeper, more thoughtful questions.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, science is no longer just something they read about—it's something they experience. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for making this meaningful learning possible.","fullyFundedDate":1743951065649,"projectUrl":"project/unlocking-the-microscopic-world-classro/9001547/","projectTitle":"Unlocking the Microscopic World: Classroom Microscope for Hands-On Biology Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Malonzo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9837142_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733938310193","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9837142"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_129062","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":125,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":81,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":33.3,"schoolId":129062,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Halifax County Early College High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Halifax County Early College High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/halifax-county-school-district/halifax-county-early-college-high-school/129062"}
