It has improved focus and emotional regulation: The calming, rhythmic motion of a sensory swing helps regulate sensory input, which reduced classroom disruption and make students more ready to learn and participate. Also, it provides a safe space to calm down and release pent-up emotions. \r\n\r\nThe books not only help to replenish our library, but give the students an opportunity to take a book home each week to engage with family. It is assisting with developing language and cognitive skills: Reading and interacting with books builds language skills, and receptive language. Listening to stories builds attention and listening skills, especially as part of a predictable routine.
