The STEM Robotics Kits, white easel, and chart paper have opened a world of opportunity for my students to step into the shoes of real-world engineers. From the moment they first laid eyes on the kits and materials, their eyes lit up with curiosity and joy. One unforgettable moment was when students created bubble makers. They were very proud of their finished product. A group of students sketched a prototype of a Marine Shark Autonomous Drone to detect pollution to clean the ocean waters. They eagerly gathered around the easel, sketched their design on the chart paper, and debated the best mechanisms to make would best clean the pollution from the ocean. It was incredible to witness them speak with confidence, using STEM vocabulary and presenting their ideas as if they were in a boardroom.\r\n\r\nThese resources have not only ignited their imaginations but have also built a solid foundation in collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. As they rotate through roles as engineers, designers, project managers, they're learning how to work together just like professionals. Our next step is to enter the prototyping phase of a global challenge scenario where students design robots to solve oil spills on the ocean and to solve water access issues in remote areas.
