A few of my students have already set a goal of completing their favorite series before the end of the school year. Additionally, we have been using our new chair band fidgets for a week now and the kids love them! They have helped them stay more focused in their desk seats and also keep the chair legs on the floor safely. Lastly, we have used our new pencils and erasers every day. My students are benefiting from our new technology in so many different ways. The most exciting part is that we now have access to engaging, interactive books that make stories come to life! The students have been super excited about the songs and dances related to academic themes and units that are modeled on Boom Cards, which has been excellent resource that we now have access to via the iPad. With access to these interactive apps, they have been learning new vocabulary to support literacy and language development in their classrooms. Vocabulary acquisition is one of the foundations for communication. We have used a variety of apps to learn about community helpers, seasons, life cycles, emotions, weather, transportation, food, clothing, animals, colors, shapes and also learned how to categorize and compare/contrast these items. \r\n\r\nOne of the activities they love most (so far!) are the turn-taking games that challenge them to practice following directions related to language concepts using descriptors such as location, size, shape and quantity. Because of this technology, I am able to select engaging activities to focus on specific skills targeting each child's goals and have been able to create lessons for individualized therapy. Please accept my heartfelt thanks on behalf of my students who are building communication skills that will benefit them academically and socially for a lifetime.","fullyFundedDate":1721609645904,"projectUrl":"project/lets-use-technology-to-create-a-therapy/8344780/","projectTitle":"Let's Use Technology to Create a Therapy Toolbox!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Phillips","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3895569_orig.jpg?crop=271,271,x62,y57&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714497269109","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsphillips919"},{"teacherId":9112927,"projectId":8496335,"letterContent":"Thank you so incredibly much for supporting our classroom with basic supplies!
