During the Open House event, students were truly captivated by the new classroom environment, particularly the inviting \"Living Room\" area. Even our Superintendent expressed admiration for the aesthetic appeal of the room, which creates a calming atmosphere conducive to learning. Additionally, our classroom has been showcased on the county's website, highlighting its unique features.\r\n\r\nStudents have thoroughly enjoyed the \"Living Room\" space, where we gather to read chapter books together and engage in discussions about various literacy elements that deepen their understanding. It's fortunate that our couch can accommodate more than three students at a time, as many of them are eager to sit there. Others prefer the round blue floor cushions, and the diverse seating options have significantly boosted their enthusiasm for silent reading.\r\n\r\nBeyond the \"Living Room,\" our classroom also offers versatile seating choices for math activities. Students can select from stools generously provided through Donors Choose, or they can opt for the laptop seats that some prefer to use while sitting on the floor. Even fifth graders have taken a liking to these options.\r\n\r\nI feel incredibly blessed and grateful to Donors Choose for supporting me in funding this remarkable project, which will have a lasting impact on my students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1746454148503,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-learning-in-a-tiny-gifted-classroom/9305114/","projectTitle":"Cozy Learning in a Tiny Gifted Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harsh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10010509_orig.jpg?crop=2110,2110,x95,y176&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746185059638","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10010509"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2581","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":266,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":73.3,"schoolId":2581,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cape Hatteras Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cape Hatteras Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/dare-county-school-district/cape-hatteras-elementary-school/2581"}
