My students are enjoying the plush balls, textured animals, and squishy animals. Typically I use these toys to begin therapy as a way to relax my students and get them interested in working with me. After a few minutes I introduce therapy activities. My students have positively reacted to the squishable toys. They are loving having soft items to play with while we work together. I integrated the textured animals into a lesson recently and all of my students were excited to have their own animal to hold and feel while participating in our group lesson. Sensory regulation is so important for my students with special needs to be able to learn. These items provide that for them.
