These items may seem simple, but they have a powerful impact. They help create a clean, organized, and welcoming environment where my students can focus on learning and growing.\r\n\r\nEvery day, I see the determination and enthusiasm my students bring, even when they face tough circumstances. Your kindness has brought joy and a sense of relief to my students, who are balancing the demands of academics and their emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nThe new materials have sparked excitement and engagement among my students in ways I couldn't have imagined. The calming tools, have been a game-changer during study sessions, providing students with a way to refocus and self-regulate when feeling overwhelmed. The art materials and stickers have inspired creativity and self-expression; my students have eagerly incorporated them into mindfulness journals and vision boards, allowing them to reflect on their goals and emotions in a personal and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has truly connected with these resources. This student often struggles with managing stress and staying engaged during academic tasks. Since introducing the sensory items and calming tools, I've noticed a remarkable change in their ability to stay present and participate actively in class. They've even shared that having access to these items makes them feel more in control and less anxious, which is a huge step forward for their confidence and self-management skills.\r\n\r\nThe snacks you provided have also played a significant role in creating a positive environment. Something as simple as a small treat has become a comforting reward during breaks, giving students a moment to recharge and approach their work with renewed energy.\r\n\r\nThank you for making such an impact on my students' lives. Your generosity has provided more than just tools and materials—it has given my students a safe and supportive space where they can navigate the challenges of school while learning to care for their mental health. Your support is truly making a difference, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1727832966298,"projectUrl":"project/balancing-academics-and-well-being-throu/8817206/","projectTitle":"Balancing Academics and Well-Being Through Mindfulness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. J-Nelle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9680974_orig.jpg?crop=1022,1023,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727319258987","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9680974"},{"teacherId":1160011,"projectId":8475639,"letterContent":"I want to thank you so much for your generosity and helping my students learn and value experiences outside of their own. I think in our current political and social climate, it is important for students to look outward rather than inward. It doesn't matter what side of the political aisle you are on: diversity and inclusive thought are important. My goal in teaching this book is to really create a more empathetic student that looks at the experiences of others and says, \"I hadn't thought about it that way before.\" When teaching this book, I will be partnering different psychological and sociological studies to try to encourage students to answer the question \"How do we allow things like this to happen?\" By looking at the bystander effect, the Zimbardo Prison Study, and the Asch Line Test, we can study conformity and hopefully learn why it is important to be an upstander rather than a bystander. \r\n\r\nYour generosity is what is allowing this to happen. With curriculums being scripted and resources limited due to the constraints of school systems, it is important that we find sources of strength outside of what we are given. This is a perfect example. I am trying to teach empathy and you are showing it. I am attempting to show students how to stand up to what is right and wrong, and you are doing it. You are what I am aiming to show my students and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you so much for your generosity and showing my students and me what a wonderful world we live in.
