During the school day, we've been using the snow cone machine as a reward for reaching academic goals, such as completing a reading challenge or finishing a math unit. One especially memorable moment was when students earned snow cones after working together to meet their behavior and teamwork goals. Watching them patiently take turns, choose flavors, and encourage one another turned a simple treat into a powerful lesson in cooperation and kindness.\r\n\r\nThe excitement when students first saw the snow cone machine was unforgettable. Their eyes lit up, and the room filled with cheers and happy questions. Many of our students had never seen or used one before, and they were thrilled to know it was something they could enjoy at school. It made them feel special and motivated, reinforcing that their hard work and positive choices truly matter.\r\n\r\nBeyond the classroom, the snow cone machine has also been a huge hit at after-school events. We've used it during family nights, after-school programs, and school celebrations, helping create a welcoming and joyful atmosphere for students and families. These events have strengthened connections between students, staff, and families, and the snow cone machine has quickly become a highlight that everyone looks forward to.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue using the snow cone machine as part of our positive behavior incentives and academic celebrations, both during the school day and at after-school events. As students work toward new goals in reading, math, and teamwork, they know their efforts can lead to shared celebrations that build community and pride. Your generosity has helped make learning fun, encouraged positive behavior, and created lasting memories for our students and families. Thank you for bringing so much joy to our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1762871004209,"projectUrl":"project/sweet-treat-for-hes/9412698/","projectTitle":"Sweet Treat for HES","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gilbert","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9706371"},{"teacherId":5116398,"projectId":9158296,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my Donors Choose project, for Flocabulary. This program is extremely important to my students because their vocabulary is important to their reading and comprehension. The increase in vocabulary knowledge as well as content knowledge was amazing. \r\n This program brings the vocabulary to life in a student relevant way. It provides slides, photos, and songs to increase engagement which is huge benefit. Several students that don't speak up in class added their voice through song and dance!\r\n Your continued support of me as well as other teachers through Donors Choose is very much appreciated by so many. With your generous donations we were able to purchase much needed supplies to continue our 3D printing projects into this school year. We have been able to keep our students learning code to create 3D objects in Tinker Cad. After their creations are made we then use our software program and print the objects on our Bambu Lab 3D printer. The students love seeing the printer in action, rendering their designs. Additionally, our youngest students love to see the printer in the printing process. They are always asking about what is going on with the machine. \r\n Our students have also enjoyed designing medallions for our school's various clubs. Robotics and our Battle of the Books team had custom designed medallions. The students created designs and then we were able to allow the entire student body to vote on their favorite design for the award. We also have created 3D printed words (the head line) for a new 5th grade mural we created on the outside of our building. Our goal is to continue implementing and building on our students creativity and their technological abilities. The filament is expensive and with recent budget cuts, we would not have been able to have adequate supplies to continue creating. \r\n Eventually, our students will be designing items for our student government, PTO, partnering schools etc. We are excited to begin selling the student created items during book fairs, and other family events at our school as well as to our parent and community members. Our students love creating! Without your generosity- this program would not have been able to see continued success and growth.","fullyFundedDate":1748637143735,"projectUrl":"project/crafting-tomorrow-fueling-creativity-wi/9202246/","projectTitle":"Crafting Tomorrow: Fueling Creativity With 3D Printing","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baughman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp402342_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y278&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1697074303872","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/402342"},{"teacherId":115619,"projectId":8467406,"letterContent":"Our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and most live in low-income housing.
