Because of you, our students now have many resources that they did not previously have access to. Many students do not have snacks at their homes, causing them to dread snack time. As a teacher, I try to provide snacks whenever I can, but it becomes very costly over time. Because of your generous donation, that is no longer an issue. The students are happy and all visibly enjoy snack time now. \r\n\r\nOur students are also much warmer, now that they have been given the gift of warm coats, scarves, and gloves. Some students do not even own a proper winter coat, and we live in central NY, where we often experience sub-zero weather conditions. The students were so excited when the boxes started coming in, and they enjoyed picking out their items themselves. You have given them essential gifts that they would not have experienced otherwise. One student today asked to vacuum up her mess from a sensory project. They take great care of them putting them in their designated spot each time. This helps to keep students on task with minimal distractions. If a student is feeling the need to get up and move, they know that they may grab a seat cushion and move to an alternate location. I was able to purchase lots of resources, but our favorite purchases were for the last week of school! My 1st grade team did a week of themes to celebrate the end of school. Thanks to you, we were able to purchase themed days for Disney Day, Beach Day, Camping Day, Safari Day, and Hollywood Day. We made so many great memories!
